We live in San Francisco and enjoy eating out. At the end of meal, with no prompting, a surprise dessert was provided, small scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of a blondie like cake with raisin, walnuts and chocolate caramel drizzle and whipped cream. When we first arrived, my friend mentioned to the front of house people, it was my birthday. As we are not drinkers, we order diet cokes and were constantly being refilled. Our server was pleasant, took a picture of us before the main course. This restaurant has been at pier 39, since 1978 and is worth the visit. They were served with fingerling potatoes/mashed and green beans with red pepper. Plentiful bowl with a garlicy butter broth and a garlic bread piece, then for main course we shared a whole roasted garlic dungeons crab and grilled lobster tails(2). Did not feel it was overly noisy as some restaurants can be. The ambiance and decor is simple and well laid out. at the time we wanted and would not be a long wait.we left and returned around six.they had a table with a view of the bay. Front of house women were very accommodating to say come back. Went early to make a reservation for a later time, but was told no reservations for a walk up, only on line. Had a wonderful birthday dinner with a friend on a Saturday night.
